Sorry for the long break. Things have been...

"You've always been bashful, you're just that way
But your eyes are like billboards, they give you away
Your mouth is a trumpet, somebody else plays
Long after the notes gone, the tone usually stays

And your chest a fine pillow, with lining of feather
Your hair is a family, with strands stick together
Fingers are keys from the grandest piano, played by a line that the Lord only knew

A tongue of an angel, floats in red wine saliva
Your teeth ravel porclein, made by masters in China
Your face can't be captured by pictures or words
And your voice is a music that I've never heard

And your skin is a cream, dipped out beyond measure
Your nose is a pink color touched by the weather
Your fingers are keys from the grandest piano
Played by a soul that the Lord only knows..."

Tuesday quote

"I will have poetry in my life. And adventure. And love. Love above all. Not the artful postures of love, not playful and poetical games of love for the amusement of an evening, but love that over-throws life. Unbiddable, ungovernable - like a riot in the heart, and nothing to be done, come ruin or rapture. Love - like there has never been in a play."
-Shakespeare in Love

I am completely obsessed with this quote. I've been putting it everywhere; facebook, twitter, in emails... it's just so beautiful, and it really goes along with what I call my "life quote" (over there in the sidebar. :) )

Young at heart

Old is a subjective word.

Your fingers are keys on the grandest piano

Sick in bed with killer allergies and a sinus infection. Bleh. Being sick in the spring is the worst!

Anyone who participated in One Day Without Shoes yesterday, kudos to you!! I did and it was loads of fun. I got so quickly used to barefeet (just because I'm a wannabe barefoot hippie by nature), but then I started thinking about how crazy it would be to be without shoes every single day, even in the winter. That was the whole point of this day, and I think it's awesome that TOMS started such a worldwide event that everyone could participate in. (If you're unfamiliar with TOMS, check them out online, they're pretty sweet) I'd love to help by buying a pair of their shoes, but they're pretty pricey for a broke college student like me, but I'm saving up for these lovelies. http://www.toms.com/charcoal-harbour-cordones-3981#reviews.

I'm on a huge Priscilla Ahn kick. Her songs make me so happy. =]

Pieces of my weekend

Amazing butternut squash-potato-corn-ham soup that cannot be described in words. With homemade biscuits. :)

Aren't these so beautiful? I love the greenish-blue ones.

And they turned into this lovely bright yellow omelet. =]

I promise I did other stuff besides eat last weekend. It's just that when I'm at home there's so much amazing food, and so much free time that I can finally use to cook that I have to take pictures of it all. ;)

Me and the sis. (Note to self: Sunscreen is always an alternative to the lobster look.)

My beautiful beautiful sis. I love this one.

Yay oil pastels and prisma colors!!! I felt creative this weekend. :D

Today = life

This Nightmare Before Christmas easter egg makes me really happy.

So grateful to be alive today. Thank you to family, friends, and Jesus, all of whom have made me who I am.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter eating chocolate bunnies, dyeing eggs, praising God, or whatever else one might do to celebrate today. =]

Going to the chapel...

Laura procrastinating = WEDDING DRESSES!!! AHHHH!! Am I a complete ditz that I look at wedding dresses when I'm bored?

Bruises and morals

Short post today.
I'm convinced that Bruises by Chairlift is the best song ever. I'm not kidding. I know I go through this "new favorite song" thing about every week, but this one has lasted for two weeks, about 40 plays, and still going strong. I love love LOVE it. Give it a listen if you're unfamiliar with it.

Also, I look like a lobster. Curses on my foolishness for thinking I could get away with an hour in the sun without sunscreen. I might post pictures later if I feel like humiliating myself, hehe. It's all that silly book's fault, for enrapturing me and making me forget where I was and for how long! Moral of the story: Don't read an interesting book outside. Or if you do, at least wear sunscreen. Or maybe the moral of the story is just don't be Irish. You know, if you can help it at all.

"I've got bruises on my knees for you, got grass stains on my knees for you, I've got holes in my new jeans for you, I'm pink and black and blue..."

Lovely picnic weather

Today would have been the perfect day for a picnic. But as I had no picnic basket, much less anyone to have a picnic with, I just imagined one in my head. This is what it looked like:

This is what I would wear:
(from spool no.79)

(indie boy playing guitar -though ukulele would do- is a must)

Oh. And there will be cupcakes.
